Property portal Zoopla is switching on prime time TV advertising campaign as part of a multi million pound marketing effort to drive more traffic to the site for letting agents. The campaign runs nationwide from tonight for five weeks until the end of September across the UK on all the main commercial channels – including ITV, Channel 4, Five, and Sky TV.
The firm hopes 87% of UK adults will view the ad at least once across the campaign.
The advert plays on the theme that finding the perfect property is much like finding the perfect partner, and the portal can help renters and property owners make better-informed property decisions.
The advert is mainly aimed at ramping up house sales for estate agents, but Zoopla hopes the media attention will also boost visits from renters to the site.
“Over the past 2 years, the pace of our growth has been unrivalled in the property portal space,” said Alex Chesterman, Zoopla founder and chief executive.
“Our marketing to date has been largely focussed online and we are now ready to turn Zoopla into a household name targeting property buyers, renters, sellers and landlords so that we can continue to be the most effective marketing partner for all UK estate agents.”
Zoopla is squeezing in to the same media space as rival property portal Rightmove, which has also had a high-profile TV advertising campaigns.
Findaproperty and primelocation property sites have also run some TV ads.
Rightmove is the only property portal ranking in the top 100 most visited web sites at 30, according to global traffic analysts Alexa.
Other rankings are 146 for findaproperty, 203 for Zoopla and 206 for primelocation.
The advertising has a welcome benefit to letting agents, who would hope to see extra renting activity generated from the campaign at no extra cost.
